Although last year Edufinet participated in Budapest (Hungary) with ECIE in a similar forum, today’s event is the first one held after the recent agreement signed between both institutions.

With this participation, the Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, has focused on topics such as the relationship between banking and businesses, foreign trade transactions and international financing.

The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, has participated today in the Romanian city of Bucharest in an international forum of schools, organized by the European Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ECIE) in the Romanian city of Bucharest and with nearly one thousand participants from six countries (Austria, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic and Romania), connected via streaming.

Although last year Edufinet participated in Budapest (Hungary) with ECIE in a similar forum, today’s event is the first one held after the recent agreement signed between both institutions.

In this workshop, the Edufinet Project has talked about the keys of financial education for business internationalization, having a target audience of entrepreneurs and teachers -from universities and high schools-, as well as for representatives from the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF) in Romania, business owners and journalists from Bucharest.

With this participation, the Edufinet Project on financial education has focused on topics such as the relationship between banking and businesses, foreign trade transactions and international financing.

In particular, Edufinet’s lecture has identified the sources of national and international financing available to entrepreneurs and has discussed the variables to take into account when choosing a financial option.

Collaboration between Edufinet Project and ECIE

ECIE joined recently the Edufinet Project. Specifically, it has joined Edufiemp, an initiative to develop financial education activities for entrepreneurs and business owners. However, both institutions had been previously collaborating.

The goal of ECIE is to detect opportunities of social entrepreneurship by the collaboration between groups interested in the promotion of entrepreneurship. The high schools participating in this initiative are based in Bosa (Italy), Bucarest (Romania), Budapest (Hungary), Nový Ji?ín (Czech Republic), Weiz (Austria) and Torremolinos (Spain). The high school IES Playamar is the coordinator of this European project.

These schools have as a common goal business education for the promotion of entrepreneurship from a social dimension. The ECIE’s work consists, in this sense, in creating synergies and initiatives that contribute to a new development model, able to give sustainable and solidary momentum to the environment of the participants and of the beneficiaries of its actions.

Nearly 15 years of history

The Edufinet Project started in 2005 within Unicaja, which became one of the pioneering institutions in Spain in the promotion of this kind of initiatives. Finally, the project launched in 2017 its Internet portal, with the collaboration of the International University of Andalusia (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, UNIA) and the University of Malaga (UMA). It currently collaborates with 14 universities and more than ten business organizations and institutions.

During its nearly 15 years of trajectory, it has received several awards and more than 127,600 people have participated in the different conferences, workshops, lectures and seminars developed, of which 89,000 have attended the Conferences on Financial Education for Young People. The website www.edufinet.com has registered so far more than 7.6 million visits, with access from nearly 180 countries.

Edufinet offers two additional specific Internet portals: one aimed at business owners and entrepreneurs (Edufiemp) and one aimed at financial education for young people (Edufinext).
