Unicaja ends the II Lectures on Financial Education for Adults with the participation of more than one hundred pupils in Malaga and Jaen

More than 130 people have participated in the second edition of the Lectures on Financial Education for Adults of Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja and developed in different centres in Malaga and its province and in Jaen.

Training sessions have been organized to promote among adults an easy financial education, focused on the basic financial and economic concepts, to facilitate their use in everyday life, and when making financial decisions.

 

The Edufinet Project, a pioneering and awarded programme in Spain with nearly 15 years of trajectory, collaborates with 14 universities and with more than ten institutions and business organizations.
 

More than 130 people have participated in the second edition of the Lectures on Financial Education for Adults of Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja and developed in different centres in Malaga and its province and in Jaen.

 

The goal of these training sessions, ranging from 60 to 90 minutes, is to promote an easy financial education among adults, focused on the basic financial and economic concepts, to facilitate their use in everyday life, and when making financial decisions.

 

The II Lectures on Financial Education for Adults have been held in different places in Malaga province (Campillos, Archidona, Torrox and Antequera), in Malaga city and in the province of Jaen.

 

As in other activities organized by Edufinet, the goal of this cycle of lectures is to provide an accessible financial education, so that the participants get clear view of the world of finances and economics, focusing on the most used financial products, services and concepts. In short, it intends to make citizens aware of the importance of reaching a certain level of knowledge to tackle the challenges that they may face.

 

In particular, the lectures have dealt with topics such as the family budget, economic indicators, deposits, pension plans and loans. Financial calculations have also been explained.

 

Edufinet Project, a pioneering initiative

 

The Edufinet Project has been operative, through an Internet portal aimed at the general public, since the end of 2007, although its development began in 2005. In addition to more than ten business organizations and institutions, 14 universities participate in this programme. All the previous has made Unicaja, one of the first institutions in Spain to launch an initiative of this type, to be one of the most active agents in this field, a work recognized with several awards.

 

Since it was created, more than 146,600 people have participated in the different conferences, workshops and lectures developed by Edufinet, of which 108,000 have participated through the Conferences on Financial Education for Young People.

 

Regarding the website www.edufinet.com, which offers systemic and practical information in a question-answer format and where no previous knowledge is required to get the most of the contents, it has registered more than 7.8 million visits, with consultations and access from nearly 180 countries.

 

The Edufinet Project has other two specific portals: the first one, on financial education for young people (Edufinext), and the second one, addressed to business owners and entrepreneurs (Edufiemp).
