Unicaja has renewed its agreements with the Regional Government of Extremadura, through the Regional Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, to maintain and improve the management of payment services.

The signing of these agreements with the participating entities was attended by the Regional Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Elena Manzano, and, in the case of Unicaja, the regional manager of Corporate Banking, Ignacio González Ascarza.

Manzano explained that, in this way, the Junta de Extremadura renews these payment services agreements with new features that benefit both the Administration and the public employees and taxpayers of Extremadura.

As mentioned by the regional minister, one of the main new features is that “it will mean savings” for the Regional Government of Extremadura with regard to the payment of fees for the maintenance of balances in current accounts and when making transfers or ordinary Treasury operations.

In addition, the bases have been established so that in a few months the transfers made by the Treasury will be “immediate”, so that public employees will receive their payrolls as quickly as possible, even if the beneficiary is not a customer of the same bank. According to the regional minister, “this is a step forward in the relationship that this Government has with the financial entities and the recognition that they are an economic engine for the region”.

These agreements also include an improvement in the administrative simplification processes while reducing administrative burdens for citizens by allowing bank data communication procedures with immediate verification of the ownership of bank accounts.

Likewise, an electronic banking system adapted to the needs of the Treasury will be made available to the Junta de Extremadura and the signatory entities will join the Junta's payment gateways with the aim of expanding the means available to citizens for the payment of taxes and fees.

Commitment to Extremadura

Recently, Unicaja signed the Aval Joven agreement with the Regional Government of Extremadura, with the aim of facilitating young people's access to their first home in property ownership, to which the regional minister of Finance also referred.

Unicaja also collaborates with Extraval, Sociedad de Garantía Recíproca (SGR) Extremeña de Avales, to facilitate financing with guarantees to SMEs in the region, helping to boost their activity.

These agreements demonstrate Unicaja's commitment to Extremadura and to contribute to the economic and social development of the region.
