The workshop has also addressed the main aspects to consider in the preparation of a business plan, required to launch a business initiative, with a practical approach and useful for the attendants.
Additionally, the relationships between banks and businesses, risk management and the basic rules to negotiate with financial institutions have been explained.
On the other hand, the attendants have also learnt about the types of financing according to the cycle of life of the company, about what to take into account when searching for credit, the formulas for business financing and the keys and main features in trade finance and international financing transactions.
The workshop has brought the reality of banking finance, its categories and existing financial services closer to new entrepreneurs, so that they have the practical skills required to act autonomously in this field in their professional activity.
Edufinet Project, a pioneering initiative
The Edufinet Project launched in 2007 its Internet portal, fostered by Unicaja and with the collaboration of the International University of Andalusia (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, UNIA) and the University of Malaga (UMA).
However, the development of the project started in 2005 within Unicaja, and it became one of the first financial institutions in Spain to launch an initiative of this kind. It currently collaborates with 14 universities and over ten institutions and business organizations.
During its eleven years of trajectory, it has received several awards, and more than 127,600 people have participated in the different conferences, workshops, lectures and seminars developed, of which 89,000 have attended the Conferences on Financial Education for Young People. The website www.edufinet.com has registered so far more than 7.6 million visits, with access from nearly 180 countries.
The Edufinet Project offers two additional specific Internet portals: one aimed to business owners and entrepreneurs (Edufiemp) and one devoted to financial education for young people (Edufinext).
