Unicaja Banco and Almeria’s Science and Technology Park (PITA) have signed a collaboration agreement under which the bank puts at the disposal of the companies located in the park and their employees financing to promote the use of electric vehicles. It also offers these companies a comprehensive specific offer of products and services under advantageous conditions to facilitate the development of their activities.

The collaboration agreement, recently signed by Unicaja Banco’s Regional Manager for Eastern Andalusia, Miguel Ángel Fernández, and by the General Manager of PITA, Trinidad Cabeo, reinforces the existing relationship between both institutions since the technology park was created, aimed at reaching the common goals of favouring the business fabric, facilitating the economic boost and supporting employment in Almeria.

With this project, Unicaja Banco intends, within the framework of the e-PITACar project, fostered by Almeria’s Science and Technology Park, to promote the use of electric vehicles among the companies and employees of the park and its surroundings (University of Almeria, the city, etc.). In sum, it wants to boost the use of technologies that favour sustainable development, giving priority to clean energy sources and supporting green economy as a key sector to promote growth.

Unicaja Banco, as an institution committed to sustainable economic development, joins this project, which intends to develop innovation and clean technologies, areas where the PITA and its business community want to play a significant role.

Companies in general and SMEs in particular remain one of the key groups in Unicaja Banco’s financing policy, especially in that related to the business fabric in Andalusia and in Almeria.

In this sense, the institution remarks the importance of the role played by technology parks in the social and economic development of Andalusia. Therefore, in addition to PITA in Almeria, Unicaja Banco participates in Andalusia Technology Park (PTA) in Malaga, and in Olive Oil and Olive Grove Technology Park (Geolit) in Mengibar (Jaen).

Wide range of products and services

The agreement includes a full range of specific financial products and services that Unicaja Banco offers, under favourable conditions, to the businesses established in Almeria’s PITA, so as to support the business sector and create employment. In particular, the main features of the agreement are:

  • Financing for existing businesses, for investment, acquisition of premises and offices, cash flow needs, for foreign trade –export or import-, personal needs, investment in fixed assets via leasing and renting, an a wide range of other financial products and services for businesses and the self-employed.
