The purpose of the event was to inform teachers about the different tools of the Edufinet Project, as well as to present the lectures on financial education to be held at educational centers.
The Edufinet Project, an award-winning pioneering programme in Spain with nearly 15 years of history, collaborates with more than ten business institutions and organizations, as well as with 14 universities.
The Edufinet Project, fostered by Unicaja Banco and Fundación Unicaja, has presented the projects and contents of its programme for the school year 2019-2020 to teachers of Primary and Secondary schools attached to the Malaga Delegation of the Department of Education of the Junta de Andalucia.
The purpose of the event was to inform teachers about the different useful tools that the Edufinet Project puts at their disposal at its Internet portals, as well as to present the lectures on financial education to be held at educational centers. These lectures will be addressed to children aged from 10 to 11 years old –a new age group for the Edufinet Project- teenagers, students of vocational training and adults.
The new apps which will be fully operational in October, such as the introductory course on financial education and financial education games, have also been explained. Additionally, the organization of the second edition of the International Congress on Financial Education has been highlighted among the events organized by the Edufinet Project.
The activities scheduled by Edufinet intend to promote an agile and accessible financial education for the citizens, so as to provide the attendants to the workshops courses and lectures with a clear view of the world of economy and finances.
Edufinet Project, a pioneering initiative
The Edufinet Project is operational, through an Internet portal for the general public, since 2007, although its development began in 2005. In addition to more than ten business institutions and organizations, 14 collaborate with this programme. All of the previous have made Unicaja, one of the first institutions to launch an initiative of this kind, to be one of the most active agents in this area. This work has been recognized with several awards.
Since it was created, over 152,000 people have directly participated in the different workshops or meetings organized by Edufinet, of which 108,000 are young people who have participated in the Lectures on Financial Education for Young People.
The website www.edufinet.com, which offers systemic and practical information in a question-answer format and where no previous knowledge is required, has registered so far more than 7.8 million visits, with consultations and access from nearly 180 countries.
The Edufinet Project has other two specific portals: one addressed to young people (Edufinext) and one addressed to business owners and entrepreneurs (Edufiemp).
