Unicaja Banco facilitates the payment of pensions to its customers, with the objective of protecting the health of the
elderly, as they are a risk group in the situation of global pandemic due to coronavirus. The bank has brought forward the payment of the Social Security pensions, and they will be available on 24 March, at no cost for customers.
Pensions will be available to be collected from 24 March at ATMs, and also at branches, although the bank is contacting pensioners to inform them of the different options that they have -network of ATMs, card payment or use of digital channels- and to offer them a better service through the arrangement of appointments to be attended at branches, if they do not withdraw their pension at the ATM, to provide gradual service and to protect the most vulnerable customers, following the healthcare and official guidelines and preventing them from taking unnecessary risks.
The goal is to allow pensioners avoid any non-essential travel, following the guidelines issued by the authorities, and to reduce the time they stay at the branch. This enhances the efficiency of the coronavirus prevention measures implemented at branches, meeting the double goal of protecting the health of the elderly and of employees at branches.
Unicaja Banco offers pensioners several options to collect their pensions. For instance, ATM is an option which allows to withdraw the pension at any time and without the need of accessing the branch. Additionally, card payment is especially recommended now, as it reduces the possibilities of contagion.
Requesting information
Those customers who need more information on this topic should phone their usual branches.
Unicaja Banco’s priority is to ensure service to customers and, at the same time, to preserve their health and that of its employees, in line with the healthcare and official guidelines.
In fact, Unicaja Banco continues to provide its service normally through its different channels, as a basic service to society included within the framework of the royal decree declaring the current state of alarm, and it has been promoting and reinforcing its electronic resources for security and prevention reasons (network of ATMs, digital banking -web and mobile app- and phone banking).
In line with the mentioned decree, the bank’s network of branches remains open and its use is recommended only for those transactions which cannot be carried out through other channels. The branches have activated a prevention protocol, with reinforced hygiene and cleaning, including ATMs. The safety distance of two metres at least between customers and employees is respected, signaled by bands, and employees only attend one person at a time.
