Unicaja Banco, with the goal of promoting the use of credit and debit cards and mobile payments has launched a promotion during December, consisting in the giveaway[1] of 20 gift cards with a value of 100 euros each. To enter the giveaway, customers will have to register via online banking (web and app) or at any Unicaja Banco branch.

Participants will have to make purchases using their debit, credit or deferred payment cards until 31 December. The draw to choose the winners will take place on 15 January 2021.

The number of entries for the giveaway will depend on the number of purchases over 5 euros made by the customer and paid with card. An entry will be awarded for each purchase paid with a debit card; two for credit card purchases; three with deferred payment cards and five extra entries for each purchase paid with a mobile device.

This promotion falls within Unicaja Banco’s wide range of payment cards, both debit and credit cards, for customers to make their most usual payments and to finance their purchases. Additionally, those customers with smartphones with NFC technology can make mobile payments using the Unipay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay apps.

The use of credit and debit cards has become especially significant in recent months due to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 and to the recommendations issued by the health authorities to reduce the use of cash.

In that sense, since the declaration of the state of alarm in March, the bank extended temporarily, from 20 to 50 euros, the limit to make contactless payments in contactless devices and cards, so as to reduce the number of transactions where it was necessary to enter the PIN code in the terminal. The said measure remains in force.

Furthermore, Unicaja Banco offers different digital banking payment solutions (mobile app and web), with which customers can carry out the most usual transactions, such as check their account balance, make transfers or pay bills, for instance.

[1] To enter the giveaway, registration is required. Participants must pay for their purchases for over 5 euros using debit, credit or deferred payment cards. Cancelled or returned purchases will not be taken into account. This promotion will be in force from 1 to 31 December. Read the full rules here.
