Unicaja Banco adds to its range of products and services new Caser insurances for the protection of companies and businesses in view of the effects caused by the COVID-19. In particular, the bank offers Caser cyber-insurances to cover the potential security breaches resulting from the increased exposure to digital environments caused by the pandemic. Additionally, it also offers a new coverage which allows compensation for those small companies with a business insurance and employees on sick leave due to diagnosed coronavirus disease.

With the sale of these products of Caser –insurance company with which Unicaja Banco has a strategic alliance in non-life insurance- the bank intends to help companies, SMEs and freelancers continue with their activities despite the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As nowadays it is difficult to isolate the professional activity from digital environments and their exposure to internet risks, Unicaja Banco adds to its range of products two new Caser insurances to protect businesses and companies from cyber-attacks: one of them is addressed to freelancers and SMEs of up to 20 employees, and the other is conceived for companies with up to 250 employees.

In short, the goal is to protect freelancers and businesses from the risk of cyber-attacks which may affect data security and vulnerability and, depending on the insurance modality, even restore the corresponding systems and cover civily liability.

Compensation for sick leaves

Additionally, Unicaja Banco also offers ‘Ayuda COVID-19’ as a new coverage for SMEs and freelancers with a business insurance, under which its holder may receive a compensation of 30 euros per day, during a maximum period of 15 days, if the insured person or any of his/her employees must request a sick leave for disease due to a diagnosed contagion of coronavirus. The businesses which may benefit from this coverage must have less than 12 employees. This coverage has a waiting period of 15 days and is limited to three sick leaves per policy.

This coverage will have no cost during the first year for the customers who subscribe the Seguro Comercio Connect insurance in the Confortable or Premium modalities by 31 May.

Both insurances are managed by Unimediacion SLU, related bancassurance operator of Grupo Unicaja Banco.
