Unicaja Banco, on the occasion of the start of the agricultural season 2021-2022, has launched its new campaign ‘Intensive Crops’, where the bank maintains its traditional support to the agricultural sector, offering up to €526.7 million in its pre-approved loan line targeted to the fruit and vegetable sector, with advantageous terms.
This way, under the Intensive Crops campaign, Unicaja Banco offers its traditional facility of pre-approved loans to its farming customers, for a total amount of €459.3 million, to cover the expenses arising from the agricultural season. The bank adds again the 5-year pre-approved loan facility for the modernization and improvement of intensive crop farms in the province of Almeria, for a total amount of €67.4 million.
The pre-approved loans stand out for the agility in their granting, and allow the bank to meet the financing needs of farmers, for them to have quick and easy access to the pre-approved amount for the investments and expenses required at the beginning of the season. The granting of the offered financing is subject to the bank’s criterion and will be applied according to the crop type and surface.
The campaign, especially designed for this group of customer, will be in force until April 2022 and it should be highlighted that the loan capital and interests are repaid upon maturity. This allows clients to adapt the said maturity to the date on which they receive payment for the harvest.
This year, as a new feature, the bank will use new technology tools, such as a chatbot, to provide its customers with a customised financing offering. This way, customers can adapt the offering to their specific needs from any device and at any time.
The new campaign includes other financing modalities adapted to the needs of those developing their activities in the field of intensive crops. In this line, Unicaja Banco offers loans of up to 12 and 6 months, as well as other specific financial products such as Univerde Card, which gives users the possibility to defer payments until the end of the campaign, allowing them to choose the payment modality that best suits their needs.
This campaign, designed to cover the particular needs of the fruit and vegetable sector, with special interest in greenhouse farming, is especially relevant in certain areas of Andalusia. It intends to cover the funding needs both for the purchase of supplies and for the acquisition of technology or improvements in irrigation structures and systems.
Unicaja Banco continues to be a financial institution that provides great support to agriculture. This support is reflected in the ongoing adaptation of its products to the needs of farmers and companies of the sector (fruit and vegetable traders, supplies, plastics and other ancillary industries), with the creation of a wide range of specialized financial products and services with interesting conditions, covering intensive crops, arable crops, olive grove, industrial crops, vineyards or livestock crops, as well as agri-food industry and trading companies.
