Unicaja Banco and Sindicado Independiente Agropecuario de Cuenca (SIAC) collaborate, one more year, to facilitate the application and management of CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) subsidies, thanks to the signing of an agreement.

Therefore, farmers and livestock breeders will have access to the experience and specialized staff and resources of SIAC to process their application, while, at the same time, will have access to the financial advantages provided by Unicaja Banco, such as the advance payment of the subsidies.

Unicaja Banco’s Commercial Banking Regional Manager in Castilla-La Mancha, José Ignacio Martínez Uviedo, and the Representative of SIAC in Cuenca, Javier de la Vega Mercado, have signed this agreement, under which the members of the farmers’ association will have access to special conditions at the bank.

SIAC has been acting as the historical representation of farmers and livestock breeders in the province of Cuenca since 1977, and today it provides its services throughout Castilla-La Mancha through its technical team. According to de la Vega, “we signed this agreement to streamline the processing and management of CAP applications, as well as the incorporation of young farmers when they make their first application for subsidies, as they are the future of the agricultural sector”.

Martínez Uviedo stated that “agreements such as this one allow us to continue developing the best solutions for the sector”. He also stressed “Unicaja Banco's deep-rooted presence in Castilla-La Mancha and Cuenca and its firm commitment to the farming sector in this region”.

Products adapted to the needs of the sector

Both institutions agreed on the importance of knowing first-hand the needs of the sector in order to be able to offer them financial products and services adapted to their needs. In that line, Unicaja Banco offers a broad range of products and services, with specific solutions for each agricultural holding, as well as an experienced team of managers, to offer a quality service.

Farmers will have at their disposal new financing products to launch any project, invest in upgrades, acquire more efficient machinery or expand their markets.

On the other hand, SIAC knows first-hand the needs of farmers and livestock breeders through the information provided by its Board of Directors, as well as its associates. SIAC leaves the door open to future collaborations with Unicaja Banco to reflect the good relations existing between both entities.
