Unicaja Banco shows one more year its support to the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga (Malaga Holy Week Brotherhoods’ Association), with the aim of facilitating their activities. For that purpose, both institutions have renewed the collaboration agreement that they have had for more than 15 years, and which includes a comprehensive and specific financial service, on advantageous terms, to support the projects of the Association.
This agreement, which reinforces the existing relationship between both institutions, has been signed by the Chairman of Unicaja Banco, Manuel Azuaga, and by the Chairman of the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga, Pablo Atencia.
The agreement will benefit the 41 brotherhoods member of the Agrupación de Cofradías de Málaga, an institution with a history spanning over 100 years and which is the oldest brotherhood association in Spain.
The support to the work of the Brotherhoods’ Association falls within the actions that Unicaja Banco develops aimed at the promotion and dissemination of Malaga Holy Week and of the work of brotherhoods as the repositories of social, religious, cultural, historic and artistic values, and as generators of a relevant social, cultural and charitable activity in the city.
More specifically, the agreement entered into includes a full range of financial products and services¸ on advantageous terms and designed by Unicaja Banco to meet the needs and facilitate the activities of both the Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga and of its different brotherhoods.
Financial products and services
The products and services offered include financing for investment; current accounts with special conditions; specific services to manage payments and collections and to manage tax payments, or digital banking services.
Unicaja Banco also offers a wide range of insurance products. These insurance policies may be collective or individual and may cover accidents, eventualities, damage to the Brotherhoods’ Houses (casas hermandades) or museums, liability and heritage.
The Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Malaga, established on 21 January 1921, is the first institution of that kind established in Spain with the aim of representing and coordinating their interests and the public celebrations.
It was established in order to gather all the religious fraternities of Malaga in order to enhance the processions of the Holy Week and to promote the collaboration between Brotherhoods.
It currently gathers 41 brotherhoods, with a social direct support which reaches nearly 80,000 members. Among its main activities, the following should be mentioned: the organization of processions in the city and the promotion and dissemination of the Holy Week of Malaga. Social and charitable works are also remarkable, in addition to the actions carried out individually by each brotherhood.
