Unicaja Banco and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias Castilla-La Mancha have renewed the collaboration agreement that will allow the implementation of actions to promote the development of the regional agri-food sector and which will benefit more than 400 cooperatives. Both these cooperatives and all their members will have access, under this agreement, to a specific range of products and services provided by the bank with the aim of improving their financial conditions.

The Territorial Manager of Commercial Banking of Unicaja Banco, José María Cortés, and the Head of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Castilla-La Mancha, Juan Miguel del Real, have signed this agreement, within the framework of the Spanish Wine Fair FENAVIN, which was recently held in Ciudad Real. The aim is to provide financial resources and services that allow members to undertake projects that facilitate the development of their activities to help them to be more competitive in the market.

Unicaja Banco is working on the design of new financing products to adapt to the needs and opportunities that may arise in cooperatives. Thus, cooperatives will have access to loans for agricultural investments, to improve the sustainability of their businesses or to finance new crops, highlighting the specific product for woody crops.

In addition, they will have at their disposal advances of aids and subsidies, seasonal loans, harvest advances or advances on agricultural insurance premiums, among other products, always with the advice of the specialized staff of Unicaja Banco’s branches in the region, with experience to provide them with a personalized and high-quality service.

Commitment to the sector

The signing of this agreement reflects Unicaja Banco’s deep-rooted presence in Castilla-La Mancha, as well as the financial institution’s firm commitment to the region’s agricultural and livestock sector, as one of its main drivers of development. In this sense, the collaboration with organizations such as Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias facilitates the proximity with farmers, allowing the bank to detect the needs of these professionals and to offer them specialized advice.

Through this agreement, the financial institution will also collaborate with Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias Castilla-La Mancha in the development of information activities on current sector developments, providing training to its members with initiatives such as conferences, courses or seminars.
