Unicaja Banco makes it easier for users to make donations to NGOs helping those affected by the catastrophes in Morocco and Libya

Unicaja Banco, with the aim of helping to respond to the victims of the earthquake in Morocco and the floods in Libya, is collaborating with the NGOs working in the affected areas. Likewise, the bank has temporarily enabled free transfers between individuals to both countries.

 

The bank, as it has done in other emergency situations, collaborates with the campaigns carried out by the Red Cross, an organization that is working to respond to the victims of the earthquake in Morocco, and UNICEF, which is working in Libya to help the population affected by Storm Daniel.

 

Thus, donations can be made, free of commissions, through the accounts that these organizations have in Unicaja Banco: ES18 2103 1001 5000 3000 2823 (Red Cross) for Morocco, and ES96 2103 0146 9400 3003 6581 (UNICEF) for Libya.

 

Additionally, the bank has temporarily waived fees for the service of transfers to accounts opened in those countries, ordered both from the branch channel and through its digital banking (web and app).

 

 

RED CROSS

 

The Red Cross, through the Moroccan Red Crescent, is working in the area affected by the earthquake to meet immediate humanitarian needs. In fact, from the outset, Red Crescent teams have been coordinating with local authorities to assess the situation and provide support to the population.

 

Specifically, the Moroccan Red Crescent works in health, with first aid and maternal and child health care; shelter and non-food items; water supply, sanitation and hygiene; and food.

 

 

UNICEF

 

UNICEF’s response to the situation in Libya is dedicated to the provision of health and water supplies, sanitation and hygiene, child protection and education services, with a focus on vulnerable children and women.

 

Following the initial emergency response phase, UNICEF will assess infrastructure damage and support the rehabilitation of primary health care centers, water, sanitation and hygiene facilities and schools, in close coordination with local authorities.
