Unicaja has signed an agreement with the Government of Castilla-La Mancha to make special financing conditions available to farmers and livestock breeders in the region, with the aim of injecting liquidity into the agricultural sector.
Unicaja’s regional manager for Commercial Banking, Almudena Noheda, signed the protocol with the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and the regional minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Julián Martínez Lizán, during an event at the Palacio de Fuensalida in Toledo.
The protocol, entered into between the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the main financial institutions in the region, is endowed with 120 million euros and may be increased to 200 million euros.
The president of Castilla-La Mancha has assured that this region feels "very proud of our primary sector" and that in this journey "we have found a financial sector that understands that this is, above all, an agricultural and rural region".
Almudena Noheda stressed that "Unicaja's objective is to offer each customer, each farmer, the best financial solutions thanks to a complete catalog of specialized products that they can find at their disposal in our Branch Network, where we have agricultural managers to offer a customized service".
Supporting the sector with financing and specialized services
Unicaja's experience in the agricultural sector, in general, and its special knowledge of its regions of origin translates into the adaptation of its services to the specific needs of farmers and livestock breeders.
In this sense, the entity has already allocated around 800 million euros in a line of pre-approved loans, both for advances of aids and to finance the modernization and improvement of farms.
It is also immersed in the current campaign for the processing of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) aid and offers its customers the possibility of advancing the amount with loans on favorable terms, as well as assistance, management and personalized processing of their application files.
In addition, Unicaja is an agricultural entity collaborating with the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development for the management and processing of aids.
