Unicaja collaborates with the Real Madrid Foundation in the socio-sports soccer school in Oviedo, which is supported by the City Council and provides training in values and sports to fifty boys and girls.
On the occasion of this project, an institutional meeting was held at the Oviedo City Hall by the Real Madrid Foundation, represented by its ambassador, Ricardo Gallego, and Unicaja, with the attendance of the head of Commercial Banking North, Luis Manuel Taboada, and the head of Stakeholder Relations, María José Rivera, who were received by the mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, and the third deputy mayor and councilor for Education, Sports, Public Health and Consumer Affairs, Concepción Méndez Suárez. Afterwards, a visit was made to the Oviedo socio-sports school.
The Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sports school in Oviedo was launched last season at the Matalablima field, on Mondays and Wednesdays, and its objective is the education and integration of all minors, girls and boys, from 5 to 17 years of age, who wish to be educated together in values, with soccer as a vehicle for social intervention.
The school has fifty athletes, including children from families at risk of social exclusion, with the collaboration of Caritas and the Red Cross. The City Council provides the soccer field for the development of the school, the social services certify the fulfillment of requirements for obtaining full scholarships and semi-grants, and the activity has a reduced cost thanks to the support of Unicaja.
