The 10 Km Race Oviedo-Las Caldas Villa Termal will be held, once again, with the collaboration of Unicaja, this Sunday, 14 April. Starting at 10.30 a.m. from the Plaza del Fresno, it will offer, for the first time, a 4.5 kilometer route for athletes with functional diversity who wish to participate.
The race was presented this week at the Oviedo City Hall by Concepción Méndez, Sports Councilor; Alberto Suárez-Laso, from the Oviedo Marathon Club; and Marcos González, Unicaja’s regional manager for Asturias-Centro; as well as other collaborators of the race.
This is the tenth edition of the race, which will cover a circuit of 10,000 meters, starting at the Plaza del Fresno and finishing at the Hotel Las Caldas Villa Termal.
In addition, in this edition, the environmental commitment has been increased, as more than 90 percent of the route runs through green areas. In this sense, the objective is also that the waste generated is left on the route and collected, so it has opened a free registration for all people who want to collaborate.
“A finish line for all”
This tenth edition, which has been baptized as "A finish line for all", will be special because a 4.5 km route will be adapted for athletes with functional diversity. Specifically, those registered in this modality will run from the junction of the Senda Verde with the road to Latores and the Hotel Las Caldas Villa Termal.
Those interested in participating in this race will be taken by bus to the starting point so that they can cross the same finish line as the rest of the participants.
Unicaja collaborates with this event with the aim of promoting the practice of sport and its potential as a driver of social integration, in line with its work to promote sustainability.
