The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja and Fundación Unicaja, has provided financial education training sessions to more than 20,300 people in the academic year that has just ended. In addition, Edufinet's audiovisual training content and podcasts have accumulated more than 4.2 million views and reproductions on its social media profiles and digital platforms. Its social media accounts have more than 25,300 followers and its web portals have received close to 120,000 visits.
In this way, Edufinet trainers have given, during the period from September 2023 to June 2024, a total of 574 workshops on financial education. Of these, 336 have been addressed to 12,421 students in Secondary Education and vocational training, and 41 to some 1,000 students in Primary Education.
Some 230 university students have received training in 14 seminars, while 6,144 senior citizens, one of the demographics to which the greatest dedication to financial education has been offered in recent years, have attended the 168 talks specially designed for them.
In addition, 12 seminars were held for the general public, attended by 516 people, and three for people with special needs. Nearly 40 speakers have been in charge of providing training in approximately 200 locations in different areas of the country.
Social networks and podcast platforms
With respect to social networks and podcast platforms, it is worth noting the more than 4.2 million views of videos and reproduction of audios with educational content on financial education in the academic year that has just ended. Edufinet's social media profiles had more than 25,300 followers at the end of June.
The platform with the most activity is Youtube, which accumulated more than two million views in the aforementioned period, as well as more than 13,200 subscribers as of June, being the social network in which Edufinet has the most followers.
Tik Tok is the second most active network, with almost one million views, and also with the greatest increase in the number of followers, reaching 4,600, and highlighting that more than 50% of the content is viewed by users between 18 and 34 years of age and 72% reside outside Spain.
Instagram is in third place, with more than 902,000 views and almost 3,000 followers. Half of the users of the content of this social network are between 25 and 44 years old and 67% are from Spain.
In fourth place is Facebook, with more than 320,000 views and a total of 1,976 followers. Finally, X accumulates 51,800 views and LinkedIn, more than 21,000 views. Both networks have more than 1,300 followers.
As for the podcast platforms (iVoox and Spotify), these have reached a total of 2,641 plays, and it should be noted that 70% of iVoox users are located in the United States.
Overall, Edufinet's Internet portals received a total of 118,154 visits during the period, distributed as follows: Edufinet web portal (77,649 visits), Edufiblog (21,853), Edufinext (8,264), Edufisport (3,627), Edufiemp (1,801) and Edufiagro (361). The Edufinet Financial Education Congress website also received 4,239 visits.
Edufinet Project
The Edufinet Project has been promoting financial education activities for almost two decades, making it one of the pioneering financial education programs in Spain.
It currently has the collaboration of 17 universities and ten business entities and organizations, with the aim of increasing the citizens’ economic and financial skills and knowledge. This is achieved through various lines of action: courses and workshops (in person and online), publications, as well as several Internet portals with practical and educational information on the financial world, around www.edufinet.com (Edufinext, Edufiemp, Edufitech, Edufiblog, Edufisport, Edufiagro and Edufiacademics).
In addition to this, Edufinet also carries out educational and informative work through its social media channels (YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Tik Tok), and podcast platforms (iVoox and Spotify) with adapted formats.
Since it was launched, almost 260,000 people have participated in person in the various seminars, workshops, courses and conferences it has organized. In fact, its web pages have accumulated more than 20 million visits to date, with access from almost 180 countries.
