A total of thirty schoolchildren have participated, over several days, in a children's and musical workshop on Rossini's opera “The Barber of Seville”. This activity was organized by the Ópera de Oviedo and carried out by members of the children's musical company La Federica, a resident of the Ópera de Oviedo, with the collaboration of Unicaja.
The workshops consisted in the development of body expression, theater and singing activities. The participants were introduced to the plot of “The Barber of Seville” and listened to fragments of the most famous arias of the opera, performing different activities based on them.
In addition, on 19 October there will be two performances of “The Barber of Seville” by the children's musical company La Federica, resident of the Oviedo Opera, aimed at school audiences. These sessions are sponsored by Unicaja and complementary to the performance of this opera in the program of the Season.
The financial institution collaborates as Premium Protector in the LXXVII Oviedo Opera Season, organized by the Oviedo Opera Foundation. This support is part of Unicaja's sustainability strategy, which maintains its commitment to important cultural initiatives in its regions of origin.
Programme seson 2024/2025
The 2024/2025 season of the Oviedo Opera has started this weekend at the Teatro Campoamor with a new production of Anna Bolena, by Gaetano Donizetti, which will have new performances on 12 and 14 September 2024.
Rossini's “Il barbiere di Siviglia” is scheduled for 5, 8, 10 and 12 october, with two children's performances on 19 October.
Richard Strauss' opera “Arabella” will come to the Teatro Campoamor for the first time, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the composer's death, on 17, 19, 21 and 23 November.
On 13, 15, 18 and 21 December, Verdi's “Aida”, and finally, Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”, on 25, 28 and 30 January, and 1 February.
On the other hand, the so-called “Opera Fridays” will also include the staging of “The Barber of Seville” (11 October), “Aida” (20 December) and “The Marriage of Figaro” (31 January).
In addition, the programme includes talks and activities related to the plays, as well as children's and youth programming.
