Unicaja Award for Quesos del Casar

The Unicaja Award, given at the II Encuentro de la Empresa Extremeña de Grupo ROS, joins a multitude of recognitions and awards that Quesos del Casar has received throughout its history, both nationally and internationally.

Some of the awards obtained have been “Best Cheese of Spain 2021” at the Food of Spain Awards granted by the Ministry, the “Golden Cincho” at the World Cheese Fair and also on several occasions has been awarded at the World Cheese Awards, at the Gourmet Cheese Awards or at the Torta del Casar Week.

Quesos del Casar is a family company created in 1985, when Adrián Blasco and Engracia Rey founded the first cheese factory with the aim of recovering the production of those artisan cheeses, fruit of the livestock and gastronomic traditions of Cáceres.

Currently, Quesos del Casar S.L. has forty employees and is managed by Mario Blasco Rey, who represents the second generation of the family and who continues to keep alive the essence of its founders with the same enthusiasm and drive, with the following premises: service and trust, quality and innovation, food safety and quality, without forgetting sustainability and social commitment.

With “Gran Casar” cheese as their first major brand, they also produce fresh cheeses, goat cheeses, cream cheese and campaign cheeses, under the names of El Abuelo, Villa Noble or Viejo Maestro.
