Unicaja has sponsored the first edition of the Gala del Comercio de El Bierzo, organized by the Town Hall of Ponferrada and the Merchants Association of the city center. This association, which represents 71 companies, has among its social purposes to promote business in the capital of the province of Bierzo and promote local commercial activity. The head of the Unicaja branch in Ponferrada, María José Vidal, took part in the event.
Among the various prizes awarded was an award to a large company, Cementos Cosmos, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary in the region, and the professional career of the Bierzo journalist Luis del Olmo, one of the leading figures of Spanish radio in the last 50 years, was recognized.
Among other categories, the organizers also recognized in this year's gala the Proximity Commerce; Deporte Berciano; Berciano of the Year; SME 2024; Trajectory; Culture and Arts; Institution, Association and Social Action; Woman Entrepreneur and the Young Entrepreneur and Our Land.
The event was presented by journalist Carme Chaparro and featured a musical performance by singer David Bustamante and magician Roncero. After the gala dinner there was also a charity auction with items donated by the merchants and businessmen of Ponferrada.
Unicaja has once again expressed its collaboration with the merchants of El Bierzo, Leon and the whole community, supporting initiatives of institutions, companies and their individual customers.
