Unicaja has joined the Empresas Amigas Alumni program, which has been presented today by the University of Salamanca, and which aims to promote talent, employability and entrepreneurship of graduates, through active collaboration with companies, institutions and non-profit organizations. The University's goal is to be able to offer a total of 1,000 internships in the 2028-2029 academic year.
The presentation of this initiative was attended by the rector of the USAL, Juan Manuel Corchado, and the Councilor for Education of the Junta de Castilla y León, Rocío Lucas, among other personalities. Manuel Rubio, regional manager of Unicaja in Castilla y León Sur, and María José Rivera, head of Stakeholder Relations, were present on behalf of Unicaja. The promoters of this program seek to strengthen ties between the business and academic worlds, generating mutual benefits and contributing to the development of a stronger professional community.
The incorporation of Unicaja to this program, promoted by the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca, will serve to finance paid training internships, for periods of 6 and 12 months, aimed at facilitating the labor market insertion of recent graduates. These internships will begin in January 2025.
Unicaja will also contribute to other aspects of the Empresas Amigas Alumni program. Thus, it will participate in Mentoring actions (offering personalized advice and guidance in the professional and personal development of students in their final years), and in the Promotion of Entrepreneurship (with the participation of executives in talks and round tables).
This collaboration reinforces Unicaja's long standing relationship with the University of Salamanca and its General Foundation. Among other initiatives, it is part of the Cátedra Escuela de Salamanca, together with the Chamber of Commerce. This is a forum for economists, businessmen, managers and academics to meet, study, debate and reflect on relevant issues in the business world.
