About 40 experts from various areas are participating from Wednesday, 13 November, until Friday 15 in the 7th Financial Education Congress, organized by the Edufinet Project, a financial education program promoted by Fundación Unicaja and Unicaja. Today's event is being held only online due to the red alert for heavy rains decreed in Malaga, the city that hosts this event.
The event, which is sponsored by Funcas Educa, has established itself throughout its seven editions as a leading forum at national level around the analysis and study of the relevance of financial education and its important contribution to citizens and society, as well as an unmissable event for experts in the field, present each year both in a carefully planned program, as well as in a select panel of speakers.
The central theme of this edition, under the title 'Financial Education and Cybersecurity: keys for the new digital era', revolves on this occasion around the fundamental role played by financial education and cybersecurity in our society when facing the new opportunities and challenges posed by this new digital scenario.
The aim pursued this year is to highlight the importance of training citizens in economics and finance, as well as in security and prevention in the online environment, especially in the current context of increasing digitalization and the constant innovation and technological transformation in society, and also in the economy and finance, thus favoring their financial and digital inclusion. In this way, by improving their financial and digital skills and competencies, they will be able to benefit from the advantages offered by this new scenario, allowing them, at the same time, to detect and prevent the risks it also implies.
Today's session can be followed via streaming, on www.edufinetcongress.es, with free registration. Depending on the evolution of the weather conditions, the sessions of tomorrow Thursday and Friday could be held face-to-face, as initially planned, at the Centro Cultural Fundación Unicaja de Málaga (Palacio del Obispo, 6), in addition to the online format, on the congress website.
The first of these three days was inaugurated online by the head of the Edufinet Project, José M. Domínguez; the senior researcher of Funcas, Elisa Chuliá; the chairman of Unicaja, José Sevilla, and the general manager of Fundación Unicaja, Sergio Corral.
