Unicaja and Real Madrid Foundation have renewed their collaboration agreement to continue promoting various programs aimed at fostering social inclusion through sport. With this alliance, the financial institution will continue to support socio-sports projects such as Emprendeporte and Emprendeporte Plus, as well as the socio-sports schools in Oviedo and Quinta de Asturias.
The new agreement was signed at Ciudad Real Madrid, in a ceremony attended by Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation, and Gemma Sotorres, head of Image and Sponsorship at Unicaja. Also in attendance were Emilio Butragueño, head of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, and Silvia Montes-Jovellar Folch, head of Projects at the Real Madrid Foundation.
During the event, Gemma Sotorres highlighted the twelve years of Unicaja's collaboration with the Foundation: “With these types of actions, which promote education in values and the integration of socially disadvantaged groups through sport, we want to contribute to the development of society and to the promotion of equal opportunities”.
Emilio Butragueño said: “It is an honor for the Real Madrid Foundation to renew this agreement with Unicaja, an institution that not only shares our values, but also reinforces them through its firm commitment to society”. Enrique Sánchez closed the event, highlighting: “Thanks to Unicaja's support, we improve lives, using sport as a vehicle for education, development cooperation and social inclusion”.
Socio-sport schools
With this renewal, Unicaja reaffirms its support for the football school in Oviedo, which currently serves 36 minors in collaboration with the town hall. It also continues to support the Quinta de Asturias school, with 28 beneficiaries. In addition, as a new feature for this season, Unicaja will support the sustainability of the football school for boys and girls with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), located in the Luis Aragonés facility, where 18 children learn positive values through football.
Emprendeporte
Unicaja will also continue to collaborate in the Emprendeporte program, which benefits 42 long-term unemployed people, and in Emprendeporte Plus, aimed at retired people over the age of 65. The aim is to promote physical activity as a means of improving quality of life and strengthening identification with the values of sport.
